Kitesurfing


In addition to the kitesurfing we teach on course travels abroad, there is also the opportunity to get training in Denmark - For example, in preparation for one of our training trips - or just as a stand-alone course for those who just want to learn to kite surf without necessarily going overseas.

Prices for kite courses in Denmark:

300 DKK per hour
Special Price for 12 hours: 2900 DKK

Teaching is based on IKO's international guidelines. This is your guarantee that the course meets all safety requirements and is pedagogical thought. Tuition is divided into three broad levels. 

Kite Surfer Level 1 on land (2-4 hours)
Level 1A
  • Knowledge of wind conditions and prerequisites for kiting
  • Knowledge of potential hazards on a spot
  • Setup trainer kite
  • Use of safety 
Level 1B
  • Basic fly exercises with trainer kite
  • Launch and landing with trainer kite
  • Twist and Untwist lines with trainer kite in the air 
  • Flight of trainer kite in motion (walking and running)
  • Understanding the 'wind window'
Level 1C
  • Rigging of 4/5 line kite with a full de-power system
  • Pre-flight check of equipment and settings
  • In flight check of equipment and settings
  • Knowledge of the international communication signals
  • Launch and landing the kite to an assistant - and as assistant 
Level 1D
  • Kite Control wearing trapeze 
  • Knowledge and use of de-power system 
  • Advanced fly exercises with de-power kite
  • Demonstration of full control of de-power system with the kite in the air.
Level 1E
  • Pull 'quick release' and activation of 'leash'
  • Salvage of the bar and kite
  • Self landing

Kitesurfer Level 2 in water (6-8 hours)

Level 2F
  • Go in and out of the water alone and secure with controlled flight of the kite.
  • Re-launch the kite in the water
  • First 'body drag' downwind
  • Correct positioning of the kite in the wind window
  • Dragging body alternately to the left and right
Level 2G
  • Upwind 'body drag' for salvage of board
  • Upwind 'body drag' with the board in one hand 
  • In and out of the water from the same place before and after 'body dragging'
Level 2H
  • Knowledge of import and export of 'power stroke' to water start 
  • Safety rules and theory behind water start
  • Mounting the board on the feet and to maintain proper position in the water to water start
Level 2I
  • Water Start to both sides and sail a shorter distance
  • Stop controlled
  • Understanding weather reports tidal and wind influences
  • Determination of wind speed, direction and quality 
  • Knowledge of coves rules
  • Equipment selection based on weather conditions 

Kite Surfer Level 3 (time horizon here is different from person to person)

Level 3J
  • Control of speed by 'edging'
  • Consistent sailing in both directions
Level 3K
  • Consistent sailing in all directions inc. upwind
  • Sailing among other kite surfers, water sports and swimmers in respect of coves rules
Level 3L
  • Changing the direction of motion without stopping
  • 'Self-rescue' and 'full pack-down in the water.
Level 3M
  • Assessment of risk factors and understanding of sail area.
  • Self launch
Level 3 N
  • Creating a 'toe side'-turn
  • Knowledge of theory and safety rules to jump. 
  • Countries a jump
